The Charity Carrousel is a 501C3 non-profit organization designed to raise funding and resources to fight against homelessness and hunger amongst children and families.
The “objective” is to use consistent funding and resources from our marketing events to support the work.
Future Plans – Funding is to be generated from the operations of the largest, most magnificent physical carousel in the country, to create “ongoing”, self-funding, resources for new programs or existing exceptional programs, to the enhance the well-being of families and our youth.
We are targeting programs that have a track record of resolving issues in a positive, constructive, self-esteem building manner, helping to put families with children on the right track. We want our families enabled to live prosperous lives despite their circumstances.
We work with sponsors and partners to accomplish our goals and intend to change the landscape of our community by growing a network of giving back, from the very small food collection programs, to enlisting big sponsors and corporate support.
Join us by setting up a can food drive for a month or two weeks at your office, on your street or connected to your civic or citizens association. All donations are appreciated and welcomed. If many people give a little all the time, there should be more than enough to feed our children in this country.
“1 Can A Week, Yes We Can” is our first grassroots program to fight the issues of child hunger.
- There are 15 million food-insecure children in our country.
- We started by creating a network of giving. If we can get 100,000 individuals and organizations to commit to give, 1 can of food a week for one year (52 weeks), we would generate 5,200,000 cans of food.
- We are building a network of givers and a network of drop-off locations, to include businesses, organizations, exercise classes, housing developments, school projects, apartment buildings, etc.
- Contact us to set up a giving program in your community.
- The food donations are given to families who have asked for help.
- The funding generated by our events is used to purchase food for families and to educate families on how to make healthier meal choices that will benefit the entire family.
Win-Win-Win
We work with youth groups to create teams to help us count donations, inventory cans, check them for expired dates, package the donations and deliver the groceries to families.
The adults are actually teaching life skills and business skills, while the youth obtain their community service hours and are doing something good to help the least in our community.
Our hungry children/families get supplemental food donations to support the family unit, relieve some of the stress, and allow kids to be better prepared when going to school.
Youth obtain skills and community service hours for graduation requirements. This is a good project for mentoring groups to work with as a youth group initiative.
