This year, we started a new program called The Charity Carrousel Community Stage, designed for children and families with a focus on “Education, Health, Fitness and Fun Community Events” at The Shops at Iverson located in Temple Hills Maryland.  We are excited to be able to host these events to expose our children to information in a fun and engaging way, to expand and develop their understanding and thought processes about the world around them.  The parents of children are a critical factor in the education process.  Our hope is to expose and educate them as will.

The Charity Carrousel Community Stage will occur once a month on a Saturday and be free of charge to the community.  Our first event is on August 24, from 12 noon to 2:00 pm.  We are presenting “The Excel Youth Golf Experience.” Excel Golf, formerly the Southern Maryland Junior Golf Association, is hosting this event.  The location in the mall is on the lower level in the area that is located outside of the Community of Hope Church. Our vision is that each program be educational with a clear focus on fun for children and young people.  We are targeting elementary and junior high school students.  We are negotiating programs with various community-based organizations who can offer educational, health, sports, youth camps, cultural activities, technology, healthy eating, etc. type programs.  Our focus will be on developing life skills and educating children and their parents in positive ways.  Our plan is to post a schedule of events later in the year.

The Charity Carrousel is the Nonprofit Sponsor the Aiden Investments Wine Festivals.   As an organization we have been the nonprofit sponsor for these wine festivals for the last 4 years.  In Maryland a nonprofit is required to obtain the wine festival permits, for the events to be approved by the county or state to hold an event for the day.  These festivals have generated between 4,000 and 7,000 participants depending on the location and weather conditions.  This year, we are participating in 3 wine festival events in May, June and September located at the Charles County at the Charles County Fairgrounds.  We are proud to be in a partnership with Aiden Investments. We appreciate their ongoing support.
